Under the guidance of the Pr. Director General of Income Tax (I&CI), Delhi, DIT (I&CI)-2, New Delhi organized an outreach programme on 22.05.2026 under the nationwide campaign PRARAMBH 2026. Representatives from Co-operative Banks and other reporting entities/financial institutions participated in the programme on the New Income Tax Act, 2025 and Income Tax Rules, 2026. A dedicated “KAR SATHI” kiosk showcased AI-enabled taxpayer assistance tools available on the Income Tax portal through live demonstrations. Participants were sensitized about simplified compliance mechanisms, educational resources, FAQs, guidance notes, Samvaad sessions, Madhukar social media outreach and digital assistance through करसाथी chatbot. Shri Bhagwati Charan, IRS, Addl. DIT, highlighted taxpayer-friendly reforms and simplified provisions under the new Act. Shri Pinaki Choudhuri, ADIT, explained key amendments in Forms 97, 98, 165, 166 and newly introduced Form 167 relating to VDAs. The programme concluded with an interactive session where participants’ queries were addressed by officers of DIT (I&CI), New Delhi, followed by a vote of thanks.
